Camberwell College of Arts Degree Show 2026: dates, venue, and what to expect

Camberwell sits on Peckham Road in south-east London, directly across from the South London Gallery. Its 2026 show splits into two runs: the BA undergraduate strand (including BA Fine Art) in mid June, and the MA postgraduate strand at the end of June and into early July. MA Fine Art usually spills across the road into South London Gallery itself, which makes Camberwell one of the only UK degree shows to use a serious public gallery as part of the venue.

When are the Camberwell Degree Shows 2026?

Camberwell uses a two-strand calendar.

  • Undergraduate and Graduate Diploma Show: 12 to 17 June 2026. This includes BA Fine Art across five specialisms (Computational Arts, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture).
  • Postgraduate Show: 29 June to 4 July 2026. This includes MA Fine Art across the same five specialisms plus MA Fine Art Computational Arts.

Daily public opening times for 2026 are not yet published. Based on UAL's pattern, expect 12pm to 8pm daily across both strands, with last entry 30 minutes before close.

Where to find it

Camberwell's main building is on Peckham Road in the SE5 postcode, sometimes called Camberwell, sometimes called Peckham depending on who is asking. The neighbourhood has been one of the most active emerging-art zones in London since around 2010.

Three venue addresses:

  • Main building: 45 to 65 Peckham Road, London SE5 8UF.
  • Illustration and MA Illustration: 1 Wilson Road, London SE5 8LU.
  • South London Gallery (for MA Fine Art): 65 to 67 Peckham Road, London SE5 8UH, directly opposite the main building.

Getting there:

  • Overground / Rail: Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill are both around a 10 minute walk.
  • Bus: 12, 36, 171, 345 stop on Peckham Road right outside.

Private view and opening night

Both strands open with a public Eventbrite-RSVP private view the evening before public hours start.

  • Undergraduate PV: Friday 12 June 2026, 6pm to 9pm.
  • Postgraduate PV: Monday 29 June 2026, 6pm to 9pm.

The MA Fine Art private view is particularly worth catching because it doubles as the opening of the South London Gallery showcase. The gallery's main galleries plus the studios across the road are open simultaneously.

Tickets are free, RSVP via the Camberwell page on UAL's site or on the South London Gallery's page.

Who is showing

The undergraduate strand groups several BA programmes including:

  • BA Fine Art Computational Arts
  • BA Fine Art Drawing
  • BA Fine Art Painting
  • BA Fine Art Photography
  • BA Fine Art Sculpture
  • BA Illustration
  • BA Graphic Design

The postgraduate strand groups:

  • MA Fine Art (Drawing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture)
  • MA Fine Art Computational Arts
  • MA Illustration
  • MA Photography

What makes Camberwell distinctive

Two things.

First, Peckham itself. The neighbourhood has been a major emerging-art centre for over a decade. Galleries within walking distance of the show include South London Gallery (right opposite), Lewisham Arthouse, Bold Tendencies on the multi-storey car park, and a long list of artist-run project spaces. If you want to spend a Saturday looking at emerging art in London, Camberwell weekend is the right one.

Second, the South London Gallery partnership for MA Fine Art. Most degree shows happen in studios. Having work in a fully equipped public gallery lifts the production standard and gives MA Fine Art Camberwell a noticeably more professional presentation.

Tips for visiting

  • Make a Peckham day of it. Bold Tendencies on the car park, Frank's Cafe, Peckham Levels, plus the gallery scene.
  • Eventbrite RSVP early. Both private views fill up.
  • Wilson Road is a five-minute walk from the main building. Don't skip the Illustration show if you have time.
  • The South London Gallery has a cafe with a good garden out the back.
  • Bus 36 from Westminster takes you door to door if you want to skip the train.
